Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, announced that it has opened Dogecoin (DOGE) transactions. DOGE holders will be able to trade with fiat currency pairs.
Gemini users can send DOGE to the exchange starting today. It has been announced that trading transactions with USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, HKD and SGD will be opened in a short time.
“Dogecoin is not a joke”
Dogecoin, which has become the 4th largest crypto currency as of today, entered the market as a “joke coin”.
Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said that DOGE is “people’s money”, not controlled by any government, and “not a joke.”
Advocating the monetary features of Dogecoin in a line similar to that of Mark Cuban, Winklevoss said that the value assigned to DOGE can be legitimized.
According to Winklevoss, Dogecoin is a “statement about the philosophy of money as well as a currency”.
DOGE, which doubled in 7 days, gained more than 10% today and rose to $ 0.53.
