NHL (National Hockey League) team San Jose Sharks will start accepting Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) and other cryptocurrencies after partnering with BitPay, Sports Business Journal reported.
According to President Jonathan Becher, some purchases such as season tickets can be made using cryptocurrencies.
The California-based team’s official app will also add a cryptocurrency payment option.
Beacher stated that PayPal’s entry into the crypto money industry also relieved Shark:
“We accept PayPal, so I also accept cryptocurrencies with it. Why not just adopt a third party and make it more visible instead of using it as an intermediary?”
Earlier this year, Mark Cuban’s famous NBA club Dallas Mavericks also started accepting Dogecoin (DOGE).
